Dear Athlete,
Yes, you are at the right place. My name is Endre Ipacs and I am a massage therapist and a stand-up paddleboard (sup) instructor as well. Massage and paddleboard are not so far from each other so perhaps we could say 2 in 1, two professions on the same website.

If you want to learn how to do stand-up paddleboarding then all you need to do is just book a session.

I have 40 years of paddling experience.
I started kayaking in 1982 then changed to competitive canoeing in which my best result was a bronze medal at the ICF Sprint Canoe World Championship in 1998.

In the early years of 2000 we trained and competed in rafting and we took part in the Euro Cups and some other competitions.
I first tried stand up paddleboarding in 2014 which seemed very similar to canoeing. I took part in some competitions just to test myself and I won a silver medal at the UK National Club Championship in 2016 in Inflatable Board Class, Technical category.
Most of the time I am out on my board on the River Thames.
Our basic camp is at the Elmbridge Canoe Club in Weybridge but I am mobile so I can travel anywhere.

I do stand up paddleboard lessons for learners in groups (up to 6 persons from age 8) or for individuals 1 by 1 and as a team building exercise for corporate events.

You can hire a board from our canoe club (recommended) or you can bring your own or if you feel yourself confident enough you can hire my rigid board (width 27") with my full carbon paddle
A session takes about 2 hours.

If you just want to say that you tried it and you were able to do something which was similar to paddling with shaking legs and full of stress not to fall into the water then you will need about 30 minutes but it is not paddleboarding.

If you want to learn paddleboarding proficiently then I would suggest taking 2-3 lessons then you will be able to decide what you want and expect from this sport.

If you are desperate to buy a paddleboard before taking part in my sessions here are some advices which you should keep in mind all the time:

- Make sure you can swim well enough in unexpected situations also and always wear a buoyancy aid.

-Check the weather forecast, the wind, the storm, the current, the waves.

-Consultate with an instructor about the size of the board you need, and about the material of the paddle (carbon, plastic or mixed).

-Think of how many times you would use it per year or whether you just want to own a board and store it in your garage.

- Respect the Nature all the time and never forget that it is much stronger than we humans are.
